The food is authentic and excellent! Flavor and quality is really amazing. (I got the steamed chicken momos and thali beef dish). I got take out, but the service was quick and the woman who took my order made some great recommendations. I'd come back anytime I'm in the mood for some spice!
Best Nepali food in NYC We were in hurry and we placed takeout order didi was so humble and the food is really amazing. We specially love chicken sekuwa. Everyone need to visit once.
Had a wonderful time at Spicy Nepal today. The cozy atmosphere and warm service made it feel instantly welcoming. The biryani was rich and comforting, and the crispy, saucy chicken had the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. A standout was their new Mustangey Aloo—a simple yet flavorful Himalayan-style potato dish, tossed with bold spices, herbs, and a tangy kick that really elevates it. Everything—from the fresh sides to the desserts—felt thoughtfully prepared. Definitely a place I’d come back to again and again!
I absolutely love Spicy Nepal it truly feels like my home kitchen. I eat here so often that you could say it’s part of my daily routine, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, full of authentic flavors that remind me of home. What makes this place even more special is the hospitality. The owners are such a sweet and generous couple they go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Every time I walk in, I feel like I’m at home, not just at a restaurant. If you’re around Sunnyside, especially during restaurant week starting from April 22- May 4th 2026, this is definitely one of the best places to visit. Highly recommended!
Everything was delicious, especially the chili momos which were very spicy and flavourful. The gulab jamun was very soft and perfectly made.
A truly authentic and delightfully intimate restaurant serving delicious momos and Nepalese traditional dishes. The vegetable samosas are deeply satisfying, shaped to look like Himalayan mountain peaks. The chicken-with-bones Thali dish was beautifully put together and very flavorful. The momos and noodle dish were also absolute favorites with my dinner party. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Can't wait to dine here again.
Very solid. I loved the chow mein. The salad was quite good. Pakora was nice and crispy. Mushroom soup was a little too runny but good flavor. Raasi malai was a bit dry. Beef sukuti was slightly dry but good flavor - not too spicy. Goat sukuti tasted like goat. Samosa was average. Atmosphere could be better. Wish they had NA beer. But still, really tasty food. And a good price.
Obsessed! Will definitely be back! We went here because we saw a review on the Infatuation and the food and the service did not disappoint. I loved their wide variety of food options. We got so many appetizers and the chicken lollipop was fried to perfection and the aloo chilli was absolutely perfectly seasoned and addicting. The mixed chow mein was definitely a highlight of the meal. So good, so refreshing. We tried two types of momo. We got the chili chicken momo and the kothey momo. Momo was juicy and tender and the sauces were nice. We found the portion sizes to be really great and the prices affordable. There are so many menu items I want to try next time, like the thali or the choila! This is a must visit hidden gem.
